This is the fun stuff - the shoot itself!
The shoot will begin at my studio space on Clark and Wilson. We can take a few moments to talk and make sure we are on the same page regarding looks we want to capture.
The first photos are headshots against a studio backdrop – in case you need a formal look. Additional shots would be against the other elements of the studio – windows, doors, etc.
Then, weather permitting, we would move outdoors for the variety of urban backdrops around – fire escapes, brick walls – as well as the more natural settings in the park. In short, we will have a wide variety of looks to choose from.
The shooting time will be relaxed and fun – no pressure. We are working digitally, so mistakes can be quickly erased. All shots are in color.
If you are a performer, I recommend you bring outfits to achieve different looks for different type of auditions. We can easily create a contemporary look, a classical look, a comedy look, a commercial look, a musical look - whatever is most appropriate for you.
Because so many of today’s headshots are sent as attachments, I think having a variety of looks is important so you can tailor which headshot you submit to the role you’d like to be considered for.
If you are building your modeling portfolio, I always start with a headshot, and then move on to fashion and fitness, and body shots as needed.
If you need to get a shot for your business card, brochure, book jacket or other need, let me know and we can work together to pick clothes that will work.
When you are selecting clothes, be conservative to keep the focus on your face and eyes. We don’t want anything too busy or bright. Most men generally bring a good black t-shirt, nice sweater, plain dress shirt, and business or athletic gear if you need that.
Most of my clients arrive made up and ready to go, but there is room to change at the studio if you don't want to travel in clothes you will be shooting in. Generally, street make-up or make-up done by a salon is fine. But we want the look to be natural, not ‘made-up’ and not ‘photo-shopped.’
Please feel free to bring a hair and/or makeup person with you. Or I can recommend hair and makeup people should you prefer to hire them.
By organizing your outfits and hair changes, we can easily get through four or five looks in an hour.
Once we have agreed upon a date, I will send a confirmation email. A $50 deposit made with a credit card through my PayPal account is required to save the date and time.
The balance is due on the day of the shoot and can be paid with cash, check, or PayPal.
Your time starts at the appointment time, not the time you arrive; if you are 15 minutes late, we will have only 45 minutes to shoot. So please plan your day accordingly.
Let me know if you have any questions. You can always reach me at firstname.lastname@example.org to go over any other concerns.
I am happy to consider any special request… just let me know what you need!
We want a photo that captures who you are now! Let's get started now!
